Capital Meets Climate: Unlocking Investment by Connecting Governments, Philanthropies, and the Private sector

November 13 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This event will examine how catalytic capital can mobilize private investment to accelerate innovative climate solutions, generate impact at scale, and open new pathways for sustainable development. Guillaume Bonnel, CEO of SIFI, will open the session by outlining SIFI’s mission to leverage catalytic capital to drive innovation in impact investing. He will highlight SIFI’s platform approach, connecting governments, philanthropies, and private sector actors to generate impact at scale. Mr. Bonnel will then present insights from SIFI’s portfolio and discuss key findings from a joint study with the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, offering evidence on how blended finance can mobilize capital toward impact. Finally, Mr. Bonnel will announce the launch of SIFI’s upcoming calls for proposals, including calls focused on climate adaptation.

The concluding remarks will be delivered by Lennart Duschinger, Head of Sustainable Finance at the Ministry of Finance of Luxembourg, who will discuss Luxembourg’s collaboration with SIFI and its broader strategy as a global hub for sustainable and impact finance.

A short networking session will follow, providing space for participants to exchange perspectives and reflect on the role of catalytic capital in advancing climate action.
